F-86E-10-NA Sabre 51-2738 FU-738 "Father Dan" was flown by Capt Floyd W Salze AND 2nd Lt. Sam P. Young, 51st FW, 25th FIS.
BORT numbers enabled for Multiplayer (for historical Tail number use "738" in Mission Editor).
Tested with DCS 2.7.9

The fighter was christened "FATHER DAN" by its pilot in honour of the 51st FW Chaplain, Jesuit priest Dan Campbell. Salze was an exceptional pilot who had claimed two Me 262 kills in WW2 flying P-51Ds. He had destroyed two MiG-15s in "FATHER DAN" by early June 1953. Looking for his fifth kill during a mission over 'MiG Alley' on 11 June, his luck ran out when his jet (F-86F-5 51-2938) suffered an engine failure and Salze was forced to eject over the Yellow Sea. Although a rescue helicopter was soon on the scene, the Sabre pilot drowned before he could be winched to safety. "FATHER DAN" survived the war and was eventually transferred to the 35th FW.
